The Honors College, through the Center for Support of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CSURF), helps coordinate information, resources, and opportunities related to UNCW undergraduate research and scholarship. In addition, CSURF manages the application and nomination process for national competitive scholarships and fellowships for undergraduates. We also help to steward the Undergraduate Research Fellowships here on campus, which support innovative research at UNCW.

Wilmington Fellows
The Wilmington Fellows are a cohort of first-year Honors students selected each year for their commitment to research, leadership, and extracurricular engagement. The Wilmington Fellows build community, attend professional development activities, apply for national fellowships and scholarships, and network to develop relationships with faculty, staff, and other key individuals.
UNCW Research Fellowship Competition
The Center for the Support of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CSURF) invites applications for the Undergraduate Research Fellowships each year. The competition's aim is to stimulate original research among undergraduate students at UNCW, supervised by a UNCW faculty member. The competition is open to any rising junior or senior in any department and in any major who has completed at least one semester at UNCW. Fellowship awards consist of a partial tuition waiver. Awards may be up to $3000. Students may apply for one or two semester awards.
