New Awards in Applied Learning

Congratulations to our Applied Learning Award Winners!

In the Spring of 2019, the Office of Applied learning launched two new awards:

The Excellence in Applied Learning Award recognizes excellence in and demonstrated commitment to the integration of the UNCW model of applied learning into teaching and pedagogy. To receive this award, you must be nominated by a dean, director, or department chair.

The Applied Learning Project (Pedagogy) of the Year award is offered to recognize excellence in an individual applied learning project. The nominee could include an individual or group of individuals that have collaborated on a single applied learning initiative.

At the 2019 Applied Learning Summer Institute, both awards were presented to the following faculty:

The Excellence in Applied Learning Award for 2019 was presented to Dr. Kit Huelskamp of the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences!

The Applied Learning Project (Pedagogy) of the Year for 2019 was presented to Dr. Jill Waity of the department of Sociology & Criminology and Stephanie Crowe of Randall Library!
