
Post-Baccalaureate Professional Certificates
The Department of Educational Leadership has multiple certificates that may be completed simultaneously during the Ed.D. Program. These certificates allow students to concentrate their electives in a particular cognate. As each of the certificates have separate admissions processes there is no guarantee that if you are admitted to the Ed.D. program that you would automatically be admitted into the certificate program. College Teaching & Learning
The Post-Baccalaureate Professional Certificate in College Teaching and Learning is designed to enhance the teaching competencies of education professionals who see to effectively develop, implement, manage, and evaluate post-secondary learning environments. Grounded in the latest educational research of best practices in college teaching, the program provides graduate students (from any discipline), community college instructors, adjunct, and full-time faculty at four-year institutions the opportunity to obtain the skills and knowledge to create engaging learning environments.

Community College Leadership Certificate
The Watson College offers a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program in Community College Leadership. The 12- credit hour program, offered through the Higher Education program in WCE’s Department of Educational Leadership, is designed for community college administrators and faculty members. Courses focus on teaching and learning at community colleges and provide an overview of the mission, functions and diversity among community college leadership. Organizational management, including policy and budgeting, is also covered.

Coaching and Mentoring
The Coaching and Mentoring Certificate is designed to enhance the leadership qualities and skills of professionals who desire to effectively mentor and coach individuals in various settings. Grounded in the latest research in mentoring and coaching, the program provides graduate students (from any discipline) the opportunity to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to be effective mentors, mentees, and coaches.

Evaluation
This program is designed to meet the needs of working professionals who want to enhance their evaluation knowledge and skills. Individuals with a bachelor’s degree in any field are eligible to apply. Candidates for the certificate will complete 18 credit hours of courses and applied learning experiences. Credits from the certificate program are easily transferred towards the Evaluation and Organizational Learning M.S. degree.
