Welcome to the Elementary Education Program
The Elementary Education Program Area offers a program leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and licensure to teach grades K-6. We also offer a Master’s of Education degree in Elementary Education and a Master's of Art in Teaching, K-6 Education Program (Elementary Track).
The goal of the Elementary Education program at UNCW is to assist in providing an appropriate education for children in grades K-6 through the preparation of teachers who are well educated and professionally competent. The conceptual framework for the elementary education program is one which is common to all teacher education programs at UNCW: Watson College of Education develops highly competent and effective professionals to serve in educational leadership roles.
