Welcome to Aquarius
UNCW Teaching Fellows and Aquarius have partnered to provide interactive lessons for K-12 classroom teachers. Aquarius is an underwater ocean laboratory, which is operated by UNCW and owned by NOAA, and is located three and a half miles offshore of the Florida Keys. Aquarius gives scientist from all over the country the opportunity to live underwater for ten days and conduct research.
Upon hearing about Aquarius, the UNCW Teaching Fellows felt that such a facility provides an excellent opportunity to create lessons that cross multiple curriculum. The Fellows hope that the lessons provide below will ignite a passion for science in all academic areas as well as assist teachers in incorporating such great resources like Aquarius into their classrooms.
