Black Women Teacher (BWT) Pedagogy Panel:

Dreaming with bell hooks

Friday, March 17
3:30 - 4:30 pm
King Hall Auditorium

The Racial Justice Learning Community (RJLC) aims to extend the contours of Black History and foreground Black Women's History during the Women’s History month by hosting a Black Women Teacher (BWT) Pedagogy Panel.  This discussion honors the pedagogical practices and epistemologies of Black Women Teachers (BWT) at UNCW, and would like to highlight some of the practices we lean into that intersect love, student success, art, and social justice.  This discussion will be framed around key pedagogical ideas as proposed by the cultural activist bell hooks: 1)BWT are curriculum leaders, 2) BWT believe in social justice pedagogy, and 3) BWT develop emerging pedagogy based on student needs.
