Requesting Accommodations

Accommodation Request Procedure for registered students:

Students must request accommodations within the academic environment each semester using the DRC Student Portal.  Students will use their UNCW username (UNCW email address without "@uncw.edu") and UNCW password (email account password) to access the system.  The "Self Registration" module within the DRC Student Portal allows students to request their accommodations and send their accommodation letters directly to their instructors.  Please view the requesting accommodations tutorial below to assist with navigating the DRC Student Portal.

Taking a Test in the Disability Resource Center:

If a test is to be taken at the Disability Resource Center (DRC), rather than in the classroom:

  • Student must reserve a space for exam proctoring at least four (4) business days in advance of the test (during Fall 2020 by calling the office at 910-962-7555 or emailing DRC@uncw.edu - all other semesters students will use the Student Portal to schedule a test).
  • Student must use the Student Portal link, "Schedule A Test" and follow the prompts to complete the test request process.
  • The system will automatically confirm the scheduled test by sending an email to the student and to the instructor/professor.
  • BE ON TIME: DRC requires faculty permission to administer exams if a student arrives more than 15 minutes after the scheduled appointment.
