Virtual Book Club

Welcome to the Virtual Book Club landing page! Here, you'll learn more about what the virtual book club is, how it works, and where you can sign up.

Meet the Host

Virtual Book Club is led by Olivia Cunningham, Learning & Talent Development Specialist. Watch the video below to meet Olivia and learn more about how the Virtual Book Club works!

How it Works

Every 4-6 weeks, we'll be covering a new book in the Virtual Book Club. Each book will be listed in the Dare to Learn Academy registration system. Review the list below for a look at how it works!

  1. Sign up for the book club on D2LA
  2. After you sign up, we'll send you an email each week with a link to that week's pre-recorded book club session. Each session includes:
    • A video summary of the chapters covered
    • Links to helpful resources and activities
    • A list of reflection questions for you to answer
  3. By signing up, you'll also be added to the Virtual Book Club Community on Microsoft Teams. This is a space where you can connect with others in the Virtual Book Club to share insights, ask questions, or even meet for a virtual coffee. Past book club sessions will also be available on the Teams community.

  • Do I need to buy a copy of the book to participate?
No! We make sure that the content provided in each week's book club session is enough for you to learn from and reflect on without reading the book. However, you are welcome to buy the book if you're interested in diving deeper.
  • I missed the first date listed on D2LA; is it too late to sign up?
No! As long as the book club is listed on D2LA, you can sign up for it! The dates listed are simply the dates we send each week's book club session. If you sign up after the first date, you'll receive an email with links to any book club sessions you missed, and be included in future emails.
  • After I sign up, how much do I have to engage with the Virtual Book Club?
As much or as little as you like! We designed the Virtual Book Club to be a "choose your own adventure" style program. Whether you want to work through it independently, engage actively on the Microsoft Teams community, or even go through it with a colleague or your work team, YOU choose how you want to engage with the content.
