Superior knowledge and experience does not always translate into the ability to teach others. If you are like most supervisors, there is a good chance you have never been taught how to train employees. Too often, good supervisors overlook this vital part of their job and leave their staff to their own devices, struggling to learn through trial and error. Not only is this a huge time-waster, it does not allow you to transfer the knowledge you have gained through the experience.

People learn in different ways—what works for some will have no effect at all on others.  As a result, that creates a problem for you when it comes to training them.  However, you have a ton of great experience to share—it would be a shame not to utilize that knowledge.
