" In 2008 I was awarded the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Ernest F. Hollings undergraduate scholarship. This scholarship provides an $8,000 yearly stipend during the junior and senior years as well as a paid internship during the summer before the senior year. This past summer I worked at the Howard Marine Sciences Laboratory at Sandy Hook New Jersey. I completed a 9 week study on the temperature effects on the development of shortnose sturgeon eggs. ".
