Scholarships for Students with Economics or Finance Concentrations

CFA Institute Scholarships

As a CFA Institute Recognized University, the UNCW Cameron School of Business, Department of Economics & Finance is pleased to offer up to TWENTY reduced-fee scholarships. The opportunity is for students in their last year of undergraduate study or in the Master fo Science in Finance and Investment Management program, who wish to register for one of the three levels of the CFA exam sequence.

OVERVIEW:

The scholarship covers the one-time CFA Program enrollment fee and reduces the exam registration fee to $350 (includes access to the curriculum eBook). Recipients of the scholarship must register for an upcoming CFA exam within seven months of receipt of the scholarship.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Application deadline: The CSB portion of the application may be submitted at any time. The CFA Institute portion of the application can be submitted at any time beginning 1 September 2020.
  • December 2020 is the final date for administration of the paper-based Level I exam. Beginning in February 2021, the Level I exam will be offered on an individual candidate basis at Prometric Testing Centers.
  • The Level II CFA exam will ultimately transition from paper-based to Prometric Testing Centers but no timing has been announced for the transition. For 2021, Charlotte, NC is likely to remain the closest administration site, and June is likely to remain the timing for all three levels of the exam.

TO APPLY:

Step 1: Submit the CSB portion of the application electronically to Dr. Sackley (sackleyw@uncw.edu).

Step 2: Submit the CFA Institute portion of the application online at https://www.cfainstitute.org/en/programs/cfa/scholarships/student. You will need to establish an account at the CFA Institute in order to have access to the application; there is no cost involved to establish an account. Also, If the application asks for the University’s principal contact, please list Dr. William Sackley.
