Compliance Committee

In order to facilitate effective compliance measures, UNCW’s Coordinated Compliance Program includes a Compliance Committee. Committee membership consists of rotating subject matter experts (SME) representing top campus risks and is chaired by the Assistant General Counsel for Compliance.

The mission of the Compliance Committee is to promote campus compliance with current top risks as identified by the Institutional Risk Management Committee.  These risks consist primarily of federal and state statutory and regulatory issues that require a University response (e.g., filing deadlines or University policy).

The Committee meets occasionally and aims to enhance University compliance by: (1) providing a comprehensive overview of statutes, regulations, and policies within their functional purview; (2) identifying gaps in compliance, process- and resource-related needs for improvement, and compliance plans going forward; and (3) facilitating cross-campus dialogue and sharing of best practices.
