CMS Research :: Paleoenvironmental Change Research Group (PCRG)

The Paleoenvironmental Change Research Group (PCRG) conducts proxy analyses (sediment geochemistry, pollen, charcoal, dinoflagellate cysts, etc.) of lacustrine and marine sediments to detect centennial- to millennial-scale changes in climate, land use, disturbance regimes, and biotic communities during the late Quaternary (~ last 50,000 years).  These analyses are intended to enhance our understanding of the drivers of and responses to environmental perturbations in both natural and human ecosystems.
