Post Master Certification: Nurse Educator

The purpose of the post-master‘s certification program in nursing education is to prepare qualified nurse educators in the appropriate use of nursing education theory. The curriculum allows for a balance between the theoretical, evaluative and information technology advances in nursing education with practical aspects of a nurse educator practicum to enhance the advanced practice role. The innovative integration of educational theory, curriculum design and instruction, and teaching and learning evaluation in each of these instructional areas will prepare the graduate for a variety of professional health care education roles.

The completion of the post-master’s certificate courses will enable nurse educators in the state of North Carolina to meet the requirements for the North Carolina Board of Nursing and enable the graduates to be eligible to take the Certification for Nurse Educators (CNE) examination sponsored by the National League for Nursing.
