Andrea Smith: MSN-NE, RN, Lecturer, Clinical Instructor

Andrea SmithAndrea Smith joined the SON faculty in 2018 after working as a Clinical Coordinator and Unit Based Educator for the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She has a passion for pediatric nursing and completed her MSN from UNCW with a teaching project on improving the assessment of pain in the pediatric patient population with senior nursing students at UNCW in May of 2018. Prior to this, Smith earned her BSN and a BA from UNCW.

Smith's teaching responsibilities include courses such as Foundations in Nursing Practice and Pediatric Nursing in the Undergraduate Program, and Professional Nursing Practice of the Baccalaureate Nurse, Complementary and Alternative Therapies, and Leadership and Management in Nursing in the RN-BSN program.
