Undergraduate Programs

Our degree programs focus on healthy living across the lifespan. Whether it is through disease prevention/health promotion, education, recreation and tourism, exercise or working with an aging population, if you have an interest in helping others lead healthier, happier lives, this is the place for you!

Our faculty members develop lasting relationships with their students while providing them intensely engaging curricular and co-curricular experiences through participation in research, community service, service learning, field/clinical experiences and study abroad programs.

Exercise Science, B.S.

Graduates of this program apply the scientific principles of exercise, fitness, health and wellness within the clinical, governmental, corporate, industrial, private, commercial and academic venues. Two concentrations: allied health or exercise physiology.

Healthful Living and Fitness Education, B.A.

This program is designed for students who want to enter K-12 teaching and coaching or to be employed in health, wellness and fitness settings. Two concentrations: K-12 licensure or lifetime fitness and health.

Public Health, B.S.

Students graduating from the program work with communities and individuals to protect, maintain and enhance health and quality of life. Four concentrations: community health education, pre-clinical health, global health or gerontology.

Tourism, Recreation & Sport, B.A.

Graduates from this program serve as qualified professionals providing leisure opportunities and experiences for individuals rom all walks of life to enhance their overall health, well-being and quality of life. Three concentrations: public and nonprofit, sports leadership or tourism, hospitality and events.

Recreation Therapy, B.A.

Recreation therapy students are trained to utilize recreation activities and active treatment modalities to increase the functional abilities and quality of life of people of all ages with disabilities and illnesses. Four concentrations: physical rehabilitation, behavioral health, geriatrics or pediatrics.

Respiratory Therapy, B.S.

The respiratory therapy program prepares students to become highly competent respiratory therapists who display professional excellence and integrity. The program prepares graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs). The program is established to prepare leaders for the field of respiratory care including curricular content with objective related to the acquisition of skills in one or more of the following: management, education, research and advanced clinical practice.
