Steven M. Zinder, Ph.D., ATC, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator
Steven M. Zinder received his doctorate in Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia in 2002, and his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Arizona in 1992 and 1990, respectively. Dr. Zinder has published research articles in numerous academic and scientific journals, and has worked with students to co-author more than 70 research abstracts. His research interests focus on the in-vivo systems analysis of the ankle, along with injury prevention programs, and osteoarthritis prevention. Dr. Zinder holds an international patent on a biomechanical ankle stability measurement device.
Dr. Zinder has taught numerous courses in Athletic Training, Physician Assistant, Nursing, Medicine, and Physical Therapy programs. He has held faculty positions at the University of South Florida, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, California State University Fullerton, and the University of Virginia. Dr. Zinder was awarded the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association in 2017.
