CHHS Assistant Professor Accepted Into 2018 Center for Health Equity Institute

Sabrina Cherry, assistant professor of public health studies in the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences, has been accepted into the 2018 Center for Health Equity (CHER) Institute at California State University, Long Beach.

Cherry is one of 15 early-career faculty members selected to attend this highly competitive and intensive research training experience. CHER Institute will prepare her to apply for and secure National Institutes of Health (NIH). Her research interest is HIV and aging, particularly among African American women who have been living with HIV for 10 or more years. At CHER, she will learn to craft a tailored and specific research agenda and then be paired with a mentor who will help her map next steps to prepare and apply for NIH funding.
