Marketing and Communications Resources and Information

Project Submissions and Timeline

  • Project requests should be submitted two weeks in advance by completing the project request form below. Be as detailed as possible. A member of the Marketing and Communications (M&C) team will follow-up with you if more information is required.
  • Once M&C receives a project request, M&C will brainstorm, design, create a draft(s) and send a proof for review. The timeline for delivery of the final product varies. Proofing by multiple parties and subsequent edits may delay final production.
  • If printing of the final product is needed, M&C works with the UNCW Print Shop or an outside vendor. A print request form must be completed and submitted to Business Core Services Team for a fund code. M&C will then submit the approved paperwork and design files for printing. Production times vary based on the vendor’s schedule.

OUR Involvement

  • CHHS complies with the UNCW Office of University Relations (OUR) protocols. All marketing materials intended for external audiences (outside of CHHS) must be submitted to OUR for review. OUR requires up to seven days for review. Marketing materials intended for internal CHHS audiences do not require OUR approval.

Style Guides

  • CHHS follows the UNCW’s Brand Identity Guide (BIG) for all written and visual communications, including logo usage and branding.
  • The CHHS logo, brand assets and guidelines for usage are available upon request. To request the files and usage information, please email
  • Use of the UNCW logo must be approved by OUR. 
  • CHHS uses AP Style, which is the industry standard for marketing communications.

Digital Signage

The primary purpose of digital signage in Veterans Hall, McNeill Hall and Trask Coliseum is to inform students, faculty, staff and visitors about announcements, services, resources and events. Digital signage is also used to publicize campus events and programs, as well as emergency messages.

The College's digital signage may be used on a limited basis for other campus units or organizations. Signage requests will be evaluated based on the appropriateness of their proposed location, placement within the location, proximity to other signage and effectiveness in reaching their audience. A brochure or video can be helpful resources for promoting a program, but it’s important to have a plan that focuses on getting the right information to the right people at the right time. Outside Vendors

Faculty and staff who wish utilize the services of an outside vendor must coordinate with CHHS' Business Core Services Team before work begins to ensure the vendor is approved. Upon completion, a final proof must be sent to CHHS M&C and OUR for approval. Upon approval, all finished source files must be sent to OUR for the university's records/future use.

Use of Software

When an individual determines a need for marketing-related software (email marketing or social media management platforms, apps, etc.), you must engage the review of ITS and Purchasing before reviewing or discussing software products with vendors
