Favorite pastime:
She enjoys involving graduate and undergraduate students in her research projects. She is active in the community, developing service-learning opportunities for students of Spanish at all levels. She serves on the advisory board for the Centro Hispano UNCW. She also advises UNCW's chapter of Amnesty International and serves as the Vice-President of the local chapter of the United Nations Association. She is on the board of the local chapter of the American Association of University Women.
