Communication studies is the academic discipline which studies human communication in all its forms. Areas of focus include communication and rhetorical theory, the study of communication in various contexts such as interpersonal communication, group and organizational communication, media studies and cross cultural communication. It also includes applied areas such as public speaking, negotiation and debate, integrated marketing communication, performance studies, and digital media production.
