Mrs. Gidget Kidd

Mrs. Kidd, a current member and immediate  past chair of the Asheboro City Schools Board of Education, initially was appointed to the UNCW Board of Trustees by the UNC Board of Governors in 2013. She is now serving a term ending in 2023. She currently serves as a member of the Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee, the Educational Planning and Programs Committee, the External Affairs Committee and the Endowment Board.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a degree in elementary education in 1991, Kidd was an elementary and middle school teacher with Randolph County Schools and was director of the preschool program at Asheboro First United Methodist Church. She has been engaged as a leader in numerous community organizations.
