Ms. S. Ann Freeman

Ms. Freeman serves as Assistant Secretary to the UNCW Board of Trustees and serves as budget manager for the Chancellor's Office, with primary responsibilities for managing board affairs and office budgets. She serves as a member of the university Human Resources Liaison Committee. She has served on the university’s Purchasing SciQuest Review Committee, the Travel Card Review Committee, and various university search committees.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and her graduate degree in Public Administration, both from UNCW.  She is a graduate of the College Business Management Institute (CBMI) program sponsored by the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO). She also received a certification from the UNC Wilmington Academy of Strategic Management Program.

She is a member of the Bellamy Mansion Board of Directors and co-chair of the volunteer and emertius committee for the N.C. Azalea Festival. She also served as an officer for the YWCA Board of Directors and served as a member of the Cape Fear Museum Associates Board. She is involved with various community service organizations in the area.
