      • Based on results from the General Education Assessment process, UNCW's Learning Assessment Council voted to endorse a year-long effort during AY 2015-2016 to focus on Critical Thinking (CT), one of UNCW's eight Learning Goals and a UNC System general education core competency. This effort will engage campus and local business stakeholders and will raise the visibility of CT in University Studies. A core team comprised of representatives from University Studies, CTE, Student Affairs, and the Career Center will oversee this effort. The Year of Critical Thinking will unfold while the University Studies Advisory Committee (USAC) conducts a comprehensive self-study. Combined, these efforts will provide UNCW with a much clearer understanding of where, when, and how we can facilitate students' achievement of all UNCW Learning Goals.
      • During the 2014-2015 academic year, the director of General Education Assessment and the director of University Studies presented Written Communication findings from the general education assessment process to each department/school faculty meeting.
