Sensory Friendly Performance
Kenan Auditorium strives to make its performances accessible to all our patrons. For this year's Seahawk FAM series, we're introducing two Sensory-friendly performances: Christa Faison Jubilee Choir and Ryan Dial-Stanley (Native American storytelling/music).
Sensory-friendly performances are open to all families, but are designed to create a sensory experience.
Accommodations for these performances include:
- Lower sound level, especially for startling or loud sounds;
- Lights remain on a low level in the theater during the performance;
- Patrons are free to talk and leave their seats during the performance;
- Designated safe space within the auditorium;
- Kenan staff trained to be inviting and accommodating to families' needs.

About FAM
UNCW Presents is delighted to share a series of programs for families called SEAHAWK Family Arts Matinees, or SEAHAWK FAM for short. The series continues in Summer of 2020 with $5 performances on Thursday mornings, designed as a creative and entertaining respite from the summer heat. These special one-hour performances will run June 25 – July 30, all in UNCW’s Kenan Auditorium. July 16th and 23rd performances are sensory friendly! Bring the whole family – and your friends – to enjoy performances created especially for families of all kinds.
