Event Details

WHAT IS THIS EVENT ABOUT?
You have been invited as an art student to participate in a special event just for you featuring two exciting activities: the unveiling of Professor Gene Felice's animation class installation animating Japanese prints from the Cameron Art Museum's galleries, and the opportunity to interact with three digital art installations by the international art collaborative teamLab. This is the first time teamLab's work has been exhibited in North Carolina. At the frontiers of art, science and technology, each of the three installations in A Time When Art is Everywhere is a journey in itself: playful, poetic and hypnotic, transporting the visitor to an enchanted and colorful world.

WHY SHOULD YOU GO?
This event is a required class assignment. UNCW is sponsoring events that encourage students to apply what they have learned to experiences outside the classroom as a way to make up lost class time due to Hurricane Florence. This is an opportunity to engage with art professionals, your fellow art students and to experience professional digital art work in a museum setting.

WHO IS teamLab?
teamLab is a dynamic collaborative of over 500 artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians and architects. They aim to explore new relationships between humans and nature, and between oneself and the world through art.

WHERE IS THE CAMERON ART MUSEUM?
The museum is located in Wilmington at 3201 S 17th Street. The easiest way to get htere from UNCW is to take Randall Parkway out of campus to the end and turn left onto Independence. Just before the stoplight at the intersection of Independence and 17th street, turn left onto Museum Drive. After the curve, you will see the museum of the right. WHAT TIME DOES IT START?
Please arrive by 4 pm to see the presentation of UNCW's ART/CSC/FST animation class in the museum's galleries. The students and instructor will explain their project and present the animations. Afterward, Cameron Art Museum director and staff will give a short presentation about the installations and you will be invivted to interact with the installations.
