Applied Learning Grant Opportunities for Spring 2021

The Office Applied Learning has partnered with the Office of International Programs, the Honors College, and CSURF to provide multiple requests for funded proposals to support high impact, innovative applied learning experiences at UNCW. Each pool of funding is aimed at supporting faculty, staff, and student engagement in meaningful applied learning experiences despite limitations due to COVID-19.

Applied Learning Pedagogy Initiatives - Due 11/13

Pedagogy Initiatives provide up to $2,500.00 per project to support high-impact, innovative applied learning experiences across UNCW. These projects can focus on any of the 9 categories of applied learning supported at UNCW: Scholarship & Research, Arts & Creativity, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Service Learning, Community Engagement, Student Leadership & Employment, Education Abroad, Internships, and Experience-based opportunities.

Examples of past funded projects include guiding students through remote consultation work for multi-national clients, working with community organizations to map resource availability in food deserts, and enhancing lab courses with an augmented reality sandbox, among many others.
