International applicants are required to submit scores from one of the following English proficiency tests:
Duolingo, IELTS, or TOEFL iBT (valid two years from the date the test was taken), unless one of the following exceptions are met.
You are exempt from submitting English language proficiency scores if you meet any of the following conditions:
- You are a Lawful Permanent Resident (green card holder) of the United States.
- You are from a country where English is the official primary language (see the approved country list).
- You earned a bachelor’s or graduate degree from a college or university in the United States that is accredited by an approved institutional accreditor.

- Study Abroad:
- Credential evaluations are not required for short-term study abroad experiences sponsored and transcripted from a U.S. college or university accredited by an approved institional accreditor.

- Applicants with International Transcripts:
- Unofficial transcripts may be used for credit earned outside of the U.S. for the purposes of admission. The transcript must be issued in English or translated by a certified academic translating company.
- International Transcript Evaluation Request (Completed one business day after application is submitted.)

- Admitted Students with International Transcripts:
- All foreign course-by-course transcript evaluations must be requested from one of the evaluation companies belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). The course-by-course credit evaluation will determine the institution accreditation, degree, credits, and course equivalents earned.
- The evaluation must be sent directly to the Graduate School through the evaluation company portal or to the address below, and should include a copy of the documents used to conduct the evaluation. The Graduate School does not return or reissue documents submitted as part of the application, including transcripts.

- Department of State Agency Applicants (i.e.. Fulbright, AMIDEAST, Laspau, or USAID)
- Certified true copies of the transcript(s) in English may be submitted electronically directly from the Department of State Agency to the Graduate School. Original transcripts are supplied by the agency if an offer of acceptance is extended.
