Campus Life Programming

Association for Campus EntertainmentACE, UNCW's student programming organization who coordinates various student-produced events on campus for educational, social, and cultural growth. ACE consists of five committees: Concerts, Films, Homecoming, Special Events & Activities, and Spirit. 

Campus Activities & Involvement Center (CAIC): This is the home for registered student organizations (RSOs) to conduct business, share ideas, and utilize one another for collaborative opportunities. 

Campus Life Programming: 

  • Boseman Art Gallery. The Ann Flack Boseman Gallery, located on the second floor of the Fisher University Union, is curated by an undergraduate intern in partnership with several offices and departments on campus. 4-6 exhibits are rotated yearly including an all-student show and an alumni feature.  
  • Keepin’ It Reel Documentary Series. A series providing out-of-classroom learning opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to explore and discuss a variety of topics and diverse perspectives through film. 
  • Leadership Lecture Series: An exploration of leadership through stories and experiences shared by guest speakers on topics related to political, cultural diversity, economic issues, and popular trends that shape and affect communities. The views expressed by our visiting artists, guests, or lecturers do not necessarily reflect the views of UNCW. Recent guests include Brandon Stanton, Tarana Burke, Nyle Di Marco, and Ibram X. Kendi. 
  • UNCWeekends: UNCW’s late night program providing students with on and off-campus events that serve as alternatives to alcohol and substance use every weekend from the ever-popular BINGO and Ice Skating to Midnight Bowling and Paintball. 
  • UNCWelcome: 6-weeks of collaborative programming at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters to UNCWelcome new and returning students to campus. Traditions include a HYPNOSIS show the first night of living on campus, celebrating the new academic year at Beach Blast, discovering 300+ ways to get involved at the Involvement Carnival, and building UNITY at UNCW.

Campus Life Marketing: Our office oversees a variety of campus-wide marketing and publicity outlets including but not limited to the Hawk eNews, Fisher University Union & Student Center Bathroom Calendars, Posting Assistance for Campus Departments, and resources provided by the Involvement Center for Student Organizations. We currently reach 13,000+ followers across our numerous departmental accounts:

Student Government Association: SGA serves as the voice and vision of the student body.  The executive board oversee specific functions such as diversity advocacy and representation, marketing, communications, and stewardship of the SGA fee and its associated fiscal matters. 

Student Media: UNCW Student Media consists of independent student organizations—The Seahawk (online news), Atlantis (literary magazine), TealTV (news and entertainment), Hawkstream Radio (podcasting), and Flicker Film Society (film and film-festival production)–that provide a documentary record of UNCW and its vibrant community.
