    Secondary Education Specialization, MAT

    Our MAT in Secondary Education is a one-year, full-time on-campus program, designed for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree and would like to teach at the high school level. It offers teacher licensure in high school English, mathematics, science and social studies.

    Secondary Education Teacher Licensure

    The two-year licensure program is designed for students who are simultaneously completing a degree through the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and the Arts. Programs leading to teacher licensure are offered in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, geology, English, anthropology, history, sociology, political science and mathematics.

    Secondary Education, Bachelor’s/Master’s Combined Program

    Our combined program in secondary education is designed to provide students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, history, English or a related field at UNCW the opportunity to also complete a master’s degree in secondary education within a five-year period (including one summer).
