The Spanish for Bilingual Speakers Program is designed for students who grew up in a Spanish-speaking home.

The courses in this program take into account the knowledge of the language the students bring to the classroom and build on it.

Write in Spanish with more confidence?

The courses in this program provide opportunities to:

Expand the number of contexts of language use beyond familiar domains
Read texts in Spanish by Hispanic authors
Write both formal and informal papers
Learn about other Hispanic cultures
Develop spelling and grammar knowledge

If you are looking to fulfill your foreign language requirement or considering a major or minor in Spanish, the first step in order to enroll in this program is to take the Spanish Placement Exam.

Courses

SPN 215: Intermediate Spanish for Bilingual Speakers I

After successfully completing this course, the student will receive:

3 hours of University Studies FL credit
3 hours of University Studies LDN credit
3 hours of SPN 201 credit (if SPN 215 is the first SPN course taken at UNCW and the student completes the course with a grade of C or better)
