Bachelor of Social Work

Program Details

Social workers advocate for a just society. We apply knowledge, values, and skills to help individuals, families, groups, and communities access services and cope with social, emotional, and health concerns.

Student Experience

All students will engage in a curriculum that integrates social work knowledge, values, and skills. We learn by exploring human behavior and the social environment, generalist practice models, diversity and anti-racist practices, research, and social policy.

Students will participate in a field practicum during their senior year to demonstrate the knowledge, values, and skills obtained in the program. Additionally, students can study abroad, participate in faculty research and community work, and join student organizations and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW)

HS2SW Program

The unique program is designed for students with an Associate of Applied Science in Human Services Technology or an Associate of Applied Science in Human Services degree from a North Carolina community college to complete their bachelor’s degree in social work.
