Departments & Offices

Three departments oversee all academic degree, licensure, add-on licensure, minor and certificate programs offered by the Watson College. This includes programs for aspiring teachers, and programs for professionals seeking to advance a career in teaching, school administration, curriculum and instruction, policy and advocacy, higher education, instructional technology and evaluation.

Two offices provide support for students, faculty, staff across all academic programs. The offices also oversee WCE's on-campus centers and cultivate partnerships and engagement opportunities across campus and in the region.

Academic Departments

Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, Literacy and Special Education (EEMLS) EEMLS is dedicated to the preparation of teachers and other professionals with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of their fields to engage with children, families, and colleagues in a variety of educational and community settings. Instructional Technology, Foundations and Secondary Education (ITFSE) ITFSE prepares educators/professionals for leadership positions in instructional technology and secondary education. Visit ITFSE
Educational Leadership (EL) Educational Leadership is a diverse and dynamic group of educators and scholars committed to improving leadership at all levels of education. Visit Educational Leadership

Offices

Office of Teacher Preparation, Assessment and Accreditation TPAA supports undergraduate and graduate students in initial teacher licensure programs, guiding them through degree and licensure requirements and helping them stay on track to completion. Visit TPAA
Graduate Education, Professional Programs, Faculty Affairs and Research (GPFR) GPFR supports the Watson College of Education's mission by overseeing graduate and professional programs, fostering faculty development, and driving research excellence. Visit GPFR
Office of Partnerships and Engagement OPE oversees five units that engage in partnership, outreach, and collaborative activities with schools, industry, and community organizations. Visit OPE

Units

Ed Tech Unit (ETU) The ETU partners with Watson College of Education (WCE) faculty and staff to support teaching, learning, and professional practice. Visit ETU
Assessment, Accreditation, and Data Operations (AAD) AAD supports the Watson College through program assessment and evaluation; data management; facilitating use of assessment and evaluation results; and building evaluation capacity among faculty and staff. Visit AAD
Student Success Center (SSC) The SSC serves as a resource for all current and prospective students interested in a teaching career through the Watson College. Visit SSC
