Why should AACSB accreditation matter to me?The Cameron School of Business is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Less than 5% of business schools worldwide have obtained AACSB accreditation. AACSB graduates are sought by top, global organizations that only recruit from AACSB-accredited schools.
In 2023, our undergraduate program was ranked in the top 100 by Poets and Quants as a 'best undergraduate business school'. In addition in 2021 our MBA, MSA (Master of Science Accountancy) and MS CSIS (Master Science of Computer Science and Information Systems) were all highly recognized.

Our unique Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems (MS CSIS) and our online M.S. Business Analytics are professional science master's degrees, which allows students to pursue advanced training in STEM skills, while simultaneously developing workplace skills highly valued by employers.

Your professors are faculty members with distinguished careers who hold doctorate and masters' degrees in their fields. Additionally, where appropriate, they also hold professional designations including Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Analyst (CFA).
We also have a number of Executives-In-Residence, business people with senior management experience who teach in their areas of expertise. The principal focus and dedication of the faculty is teaching our students in a small class environment. They use a multitude of teaching styles that emphasize student interaction. Lectures, case studies, computer-based simulation, team-based projects and field studies are utilized to challenge students and promote active learning.
To your professors, you are much more than a face in the crowd. Students tell us the faculty is accessible, approachable and involved with the learning process. Every student will be assigned an advisor who will typically be involved with the student's major field of study.
While dedicated to teaching, the faculty keeps pace with the rapidly changing business world by undertaking selected business research projects. Such activities are usually focused on industries or businesses which contribute to therapid growth and development of the coastal North Carolina economy.
A key component of business education for students is real-world experience. The Cameron School of Business offers students several options to gain such experience. Many class projects are conducted with cooperating local or regional firms, offering applied learning opportunities. Student business fraternities and clubs offer a variety of field visits to organizations and attract a variety of business leaders to campus to relate first-hand to students' experiences.
Our annual Business Week program each spring brings over 200+ business leaders from the area, region, and nation to campus to share insights. In addition, students may participate in local, regional, and national internships with selected businesses and firms on a part-time or full-time basis for a semester and receive academic credit.
Wilmington Information Technology eXchange (WITX) brings together students, faculty, staff, and local information technology professionals to share their experiences and demonstrate their leading technology endeavors. In addition, leading IT professionals share their ideas through keynotes, learning eXchanges, and IGNITE presentations.
Cameron School of Business is housed in two academic buildings on the UNCW campus. Cameron Hall houses computer and communications facilities, multi-media facilities, computer labs, executive conference center, a 300 seat auditorium and modern classroom facilities which are all computer and communications equipped. This setting complements and completes the high quality instruction provided by our faculty.
In addition, Cameron School of Business expanded to the new Congdon Hall. This building houses the Congdon School of Supply Chain, Business Analytics and Information Systems as well as a Financial Trading Room and access to computer labs for our students.
Exposure to diverse, multicultural perspectives in a global business environment can enhance the education of students at the Cameron School of Business. Varied opportunities are available to students who wish to enrich their education with international experiences, including TABSA International Exchange Program, our International MBA, short and long-term study abroad experiences and international residency opportunities for our MBA programs.
