Each year, we invite writers and literary professionals from outside the department to come to UNCW for a week of readings, workshops, and craft talks in both poetry and prose. In lieu of Creative Writing classes, students attend Writers’ Week offerings, and those taking the WW course for credit help plan and execute the operations and logistics of this robust literary symposium, with the opportunity for a review and discussion of their work with invited guests. With rare exception, all events are free and open to the public, with no registration or ticketing required. Everyone in the UNCW community is encouraged to come and participate with us to celebrate language, independence of thought, originality and the indomitable spirit that art brings to life.
Writers' Week 2024 will be held in person in Lumina Theater (Fisher Student Center) on UNCW's campus. <map>
