Alumni from the Department of Creative Writing have gone on to distinguish themselves through published work, teaching in a variety of circumstances, editing and publishing journals and books, and serving the profession in other significant ways across the United States and in many foreign countries.
Twice annually we publish the accolades and contributions to the literary arts of our faculty, alumni, and students.

We’re thrilled to introduce Writers in Progress, a new initiative designed to bring our alumni community together through creative experiences, professional support, and opportunities for connection.
We’re especially excited to have invited alumni to our very first Writers in Progress offering: a free masterclass with writer Melissa Faliveno. Open to alumni who are local, as well as those willing to travel to Wilmington, we welcome our alumni writers at all stages of their practice.
