- National Treatment Court Resource Center
UNCW houses the National Treatment Court Resource Center, a hub of research and resources that supports innovative justice programs across the country.
Founded in 2019 and maintained with the support of the Bureau of Justice Assistance within the Department of Justice, NTCRC is led by Dr. Kristen DeVall and Dr. Christina Lanier.
Treatment courts employ a team of diverse professionals to support target populations, such as those with substance abuse disorders and mental health conditions. These programs apply therapeutic jurisprudence and holistic treatment and recovery regimens to reduce crime and affect real, positive change in people’s lives.
