What is Orff-Schulwerk?

Orff-Schulwerk is an internationally recognized approach to teaching music and movement. Developed by German composer Carl Orff, educator Gunild Keetman and their colleagues, this creative and interdisciplinary method is used by thousands of educators worldwide to inspire students and enhance music education.

Teachers Participate in New Music Ed Grad Program

Thirty teachers – including ten enrolled in UNCW’s new graduate program in Music Education – participated in a summer course in Orff-Schulwerk, a pedagogy that highlights creativity in the K-12 classroom.
