Nurses Day Celebration

• Proceeds support local nursing students through multiple scholarships.
• Recognize your colleagues for their advocacy, strength, caring, and resilience.
• If you know a deserving nurse, purchase a nominee ticket to begin the quick and easy nomination process.
• Take home one of many prizes from the raffle or silent auction.
• Get creative with the selfie booth, props, hashtags, and photos to win even more prizes.
• Engage others in the fun through interactive social media.

The evening is designed for nurses to recognize nurses and celebrate each other. Tickets include a pre-dinner social hour and dinner. Nurses may nominate a fellow nurse to be honored during the ceremony by sponsoring their ticket and submitting the honoree information to Colette Waddill. Nurse honorees will be recognized during the ceremony and receive a certificate and pin at that time. In addition to recognizing the nurse honorees, the recipients of the 2023 Southeast Region NCNA Scholarship and of the Catherine Boyd Spelling Nursing Foundation Scholarship will be announced. This event does serve as a fundraiser for future scholarships so a silent auction and a raffle will be part of the evening.

• Currently licensed LPN or RN in North Carolina
• Not necessary to be an alumnus of UNCW
• Has not been honored at a Nurses Day Celebration since 2018. To confirm, please check previous recipients below.
• Self-nominations will not be accepted

If an honoree meets these criteria, please email the following to Colette Waddill (waddillc@uncw.edu) in order for the nominee to be in the program and photo loop:

• A digital photo of honoree taken in the workplace (not an employee ID picture)
• The honoree's name as you would like it to appear on the certificate
• Honoree's mailing address in order to mail certificate and pin
• Written description in 25 words or less on how the honoree has been able to excel, lead, or innovate within the nursing profession.

• Early Bird: $35 March 1- April 21
• General Admission: $45 April 22- May 1
• At the Door: $50 + $5.20 Fee
