MentorCHHS takes an interprofessional approach to mentorship by pairing students pursuing careers in health and human services with experienced professionals from a wide range of disciplines. This model promotes collaboration, exposure to diverse professional perspectives, and a deeper understanding of how different roles work together within the health and human services landscape.

Interprofessional mentorship through MentorCHHS emphasizes professional skill development, communication, and career readiness while helping students bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world practice. Through these relationships, students gain insight into workplace expectations, professional pathways, and the collaborative nature of health and human services careers.

Why Become a Mentor?

Mentors play a vital role in supporting students as they explore career pathways, build professional confidence, and prepare for the transition into the workforce.

As a Mentor, you will:

Why become a Student Mentee?

MentorCHHS provides students with individualized, interprofessional support as they prepare for careers in health and human services.

As a Mentee, you will:

  • Gain individualized insight and guidance from a professional mentor in the health and human services sector
  • Build confidence in professional communication and networking
  • Clarify career goals, graduate school plans, or workforce pathways
  • Develop practical skills such as interviewing, résumé building, and LinkedIn use
  • Expand your professional network in a supportive and encouraging environment
Fall 2026 MentorCHHS Program

The Fall 2026 MentorCHHS Program will launch in September and continue through November. Mentors and student mentees represent various health and human service fields. Mentorship can be virtual or in person. Micro-mentoring events may also be available.

Mentors and Mentees agree to:

  • Be responsive to the program and their assigned mentor/mentee.
  • Meet with their assigned pair at least one time per month.
  • Participate in MentorConnect Week (September 7th-11th) networking activities.
  • Attend Virtual Program Orientation (September 15th)
  • Mentee Virtual Orientation (September 15th)

Now accepting Fall 2026 Applications! Final deadline is August 31st.

Note: New mentors and mentees will be prompted to sign up for an account and complete a profile. Current mentors can review their profile and commit to participation without completing a new profile.
