MentorCHHS takes an interprofessional approach to mentorship by pairing students pursuing health and human services careers with experienced professionals in the field.

Students will network with mentors before being paired, allowing them to indicate preferences for their match. Interprofessional mentorship focuses on building professionalism and bridging the gap between the classroom and the workplace.

MentorCHHS is powered by New Hanover Community Endowment.

Spring 2026 MentorCHHS Program

The Spring 2026 MentorCHHS Program will launch in January and continue through April. Mentors and student mentees represent various health and human service fields. Mentorship can be virtual or in person. Micro-mentoring events may also be available.

Mentors and mentees agree to:

Be responsive to the program and their assigned mentor/mentee.
Participate in ConnectWeek networking activities.
Meet with their assigned pair at least one time per month.
MentorConnect Week January 26th–30th:
- Attend a virtual or in-person mixer and talk with potential student mentees.

Note: New mentors will be prompted to sign up for an account and complete a profile. Current mentors can review their profile and commit to participation without completing a new profile.
