Endowment Fund History
The Endowment Fund of the University of North Carolina Wilmington was statutorily created by the State of North Carolina Legislature in 1977 (General Statute) and is subject to University of North Carolina endowment policies (UNC Policy)
The Endowment Fund is governed by a six to nine-member Board of Trustees of the Endowment Fund, which includes the Chancellor, and the Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of UNCW as ex officio members, (UNC Policy 600.2.1.1. (UNC Policy)
Endowment Reporting & Investment
The Endowment Fund is subject to annual review by State of North Carolina auditors and is reported in the University's financial statements. (Financial Statements)
The Endowment Fund’s assets are invested in the UNC Investment Fund, which is managed by UNC Management Company, Inc. (UNC Management Company)
