UNCW Alumni Association
The Alumni Association of the University of North Carolina Wilmington (the "Association") was organized as a North Carolina non-profit corporation on Dec. 19, 1979, to solicit funds in order to promote and encourage fellowship and friendship among its members, alumni of the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
In addition, the association exists to foster goodwill on the part of its members and others toward the university. The alumni association is led by volunteer board members who serve renewable three-year terms.
While the association does have some fundraising projects and is a 501(c)(3) organization, it focuses on "friend-raising," creating affinity toward the university, and encouraging financial support. This board plans and directs alumni programming both on and off the campus.
