Ex-officio non-voting members are the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and Faculty Affairs, Faculty Senate President, Associate Dean of the Graduate School, and Director of High Impact Pathways. With the exception of ex-officio members, members will serve 2-year staggered terms, renewable two times.

Membership: Sixteen voting members, representing the Colleges and the Professional School, recommended by the CSURF Director. Nine ex-officio voting members including the Director and Associate Director of Honors, the Director of CSURF, the Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence, the Director of High Impact Pathways, the Associate Provost for Research and Innovation, the Chair of Faculty Senate’s Research Committee, the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and Faculty Affairs, and the Dean of the Graduate School. The Council assists and advises the director on issues of curriculum, recruitment and retention of students, scholarship awards, program evaluation, and other student concerns. The Honors Faculty Advisory Council is comprised of 12 faculty members appointed by the Provost. Nominations are made to the Provost by the Faculty Senate Steering Committee which receives recommendations for members from the honors director based on preferences from faculty elicited by the annual Senate Committee Preference Survey. Four members come from the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts, four from the College of Science and Engineering, and one each from the College of Health and Human Services, Cameron School of Business, Watson College of Education, and Randall Library. Ex-officio non-voting members are the honors director and associate director, director of University College, director of the Center for Faculty Leadership, director of the Center for Teaching Excellence, chair of Academic Standards, the Provost or representative, and the presidents of the Honors Scholars Association and Student Honors Advisory Council. Members serve staggered three year terms.

Membership
There will be 20 voting members and 3 ex-officio, non-voting members. The voting membership will consist of faculty from the College of Health and Human Services, the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts, the Cameron School of Business, the College of Science and Engineering, the Watson College of Education, the Graduate School, and Randall Library and a representative from the Office of the Dean of Students. Members will be appointed by the Associate Provost for Global Partnerships and International Education, using the annual Committee Preference Survey results and consultation with the academic deans, the University Librarian, and the Dean of Students to identify potential members. Ex-officio members will be the Associate Provost for Global Partnerships and International Education, the Director of Education Abroad, and the Director of International Student and Scholar Services.
Terms
Members will serve a two-year term staggered so that approximately half the membership will change each year.
Committee Chair
The Associate Provost for Global Partnerships and International Education organizes and conducts meetings and is a non-voting member of the committee.
Meetings
The committee will meet a minimum of four times per year (at least twice each semester).
Responsibilities
The council meets with the Provost monthly during the fall and spring semesters to serve as a sounding board and creative thinking group and to raise issues of importance to faculty.

The Provost’s Advisory Council - Staff (PACS) provides a forum for staff representation across the Division of Academic Affairs to provide input into the management and leadership of the division. PACS advises the Provost on issues related to the welfare of staff within the division and provides perspective on matters of significant concern to staff. PACS is dedicated to serving and promoting communication between the administration and all staff within the division and to ensure that the principles of shared governance are embraced throughout the division. PACS will meet three times per semester during the academic year.

Membership: One representative from each of the colleges (5), functional areas (7), the divisional administration arm of Academic Affairs (1), and the Center for Marine Science (1). All SHRA and EHRA non-faculty (IRIT classified) employees who do not hold faculty rank in conjunction with their primary job assignment are eligible for participation on the council. Members will be nominated from each represented group and then selected by majority vote. The term of service will be August to May with the nomination and election process occurring each July.
The University College Advisory Committee serves as a connection between the University College and the faculty at UNCW, sharing information, perceptions and questions with the University College (UC). The University College Advisory Committee is comprised of 15 faculty members and a chair appointed by the Provost. Nominations are made to the Provost by the Faculty Senate Steering Committee and by the University College Director based on preferences from faculty elicited by the annual Senate Committee Preference Survey and on service to the University College. The College of Humanities, Social Sciences, & the Arts; the College of Science & Engineering; College of Health and Human Services; Cameron School of Business; Watson College of Education; the Honors College and Library Services must all have representatives. Ex-officio non-voting members are the Associate Provost for Student Engagement, Enrollment and Retention, and the Assistant Provost and Director of University College. Members serve staggered two-year terms.
The Committee assists the Director on issues related to successful transitions into UNCW, University College goals related to retention and student success, program evaluation and assessment, and University College co-curricular and curricular offerings and programs. Faculty interested in serving on the committee should inform the Faculty Senate, their dean, director, or department chair, or the University College director.
The committee has jurisdiction over all undergraduate appeal requests for exceptions to rules regarding course withdrawal after the deadline. It is the student's responsibility to submit an appeal through the office of the dean of the college who oversees the major or the director of the University College. Grounds for appeals are limited to substantive new evidence or material procedural irregularity. The appeal must be made within ten regular class days of the dean's decision. All information to be considered by the committee must be submitted in writing. All issues of discussion and record of voting shall be kept confidential. The decision of the committee is by simple majority and is final.

Membership. Duties. To review internship activities throughout the UNCW campus. To enhance the quality of UNCW's academic environment and the student learning experience through recommendations to the provost, academic deans, Career Services and university faculty and staff regarding appropriate policies and procedures to implement and support a seamless internship program on the UNCW campus. Also to serve as a liaison to university faculty, staff, students and internship employers to encourage participation in UNCW's internship program. The committee will collaborate closely with University counsel to guide UNCW internship activity within state and federal legal practices.
