Meet Our Chatbot, Sammy

Our chatbot is named Sammy, after our friendly Seahawk mascot, Sammy C. Hawk. Sammy’s goal is to enhance user experience, improve efficiency and provide support to better serve our UNCW community.

Meet Sammy

Sammy Seahawk MascotSammy is your 24/7 student support chatbot. He can help answer your questions and guide you to campus resources. If Sammy cannot answer a question, he will connect you with someone who can.

Sammy is not equipped to handle emergencies. If you need urgent assistance, please call 911 for public safety emergencies or 988 for the suicide and crisis hotline. You can also call 910-962-2222 or just 2-2222 from any campus landline to speak directly to UNCW Police.

On campus? You can use the UNCW Alert app SafeZone to quickly connect with campus safety services.

Emergency Resources

Sammy can help with campus questions but cannot respond to emergencies. If you need urgent assistance, please contact one of these official resources:

  • 911 for immediate emergencies
  • 988 for mental health crisis (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
  • 910.962.2222 for UNCW Police

If you are on campus and need support, the UNCW Police Department is a valuable resource. The office is staffed 24 hours a day and is available by phone, email, and through the SafeZone App.
