Precollege Programs & College Access

The UNCW Precollege Programs and College Access team is dedicated to expanding college access, preparation and opportunities for students from all backgrounds.

By offering a range of programs and initiatives, the department aims to bridge the gap between high school and higher education, ensuring that students have the resources and support they need to succeed.

From academic enrichment activities and college readiness workshops to mentorship programs and financial aid guidance, the department is committed to informing students as they reach their educational goals and realize their full potential.

UNCW MI CASA Mentors Initiating Community Action, Support, and Advocacy (MI CASA) is a free two-year mentoring program offering comprehensive support to help high school Latinx students become compelling candidates for college admission and scholarship awards. More on MI CASA
UNCW College Advising Corps UNCW College Advising Corps (CAC) hires UNCW alumni to serve as college advisers work to make education beyond high school more accessible for their students. More on CAC
Upward Bound Math & Science Upward Bound Math & Science is a federally funded TRIO program designed to develop the skills and motivation needed to succeed in postsecondary education that leads to careers in math and science. More on Upward Bound
