Policy
General Statement
Postal Services provides a cash FAX service for personal use by individuals. Use of all other campus FAX machines is limited to official university business.
Fax Service Fees and Payment
Personal use of the FAX is available for payment by cash, card, or check (Discover cards are not accepted). University Postal Services will provide rate schedules or quote rates over the telephone upon request. Fees apply to both the sending and receipt of personal FAX messages, and payment must be made at the university post office window in person using cash, card, or check (excluding Discover cards).
Location and FAX Number for Personal FAX Service
FAX services for personal use are available via the university post office window. Outgoing messages can be sent and incoming messages can be picked up at this location. The FAX number at the university post office is (910) 962-3693; all incoming personal FAX messages should be sent to this number.
Call Service
If a student cannot be contacted via the telephone, the fax will be held for five (5) business days. If it is not claimed within that time, it will be disposed of.
As a general rule, an incoming message that includes the following information will be processed more efficiently by the university Postal Services:
Full name of student, faculty or staff employee
Work phone number for faculty or staff
Apartment/dormitory phone number for students
Department name for faculty or staff
Post office box for students
Delivery of Incoming Messages
University employees have the option of picking up incoming FAX messages from Postal Services or, for prepaid transmissions, may elect to have them delivered on the next regularly scheduled mail route. If delivery is elected, payment must be made at the university post office window in advance. Students using the personal FAX service must pick up FAX messages at the university post office window; delivery services are not available for students.
