This document establishes university policy regarding high-speed printing, copying, and graphic design.
Scope
This policy applies to all university departments, staff, faculty, and student organizations. This policy applies to Print Shop, iPrint Business Center, and the Enterprise printing program.
Policy
University policy requires that all printing and copying orders be submitted to Printing Services. If Printing Services cannot meet the request in its facilities or by the use of existing overflow printing contracts, Printing Services will assist the department with bid specifications and work with the department, Marketing and Communications, and Purchasing Services to support the procurement process. Benefits include:
On-campus convenience and responsiveness
Printing professionals' Expertise
The best value and quality for university printing and copying projects
The Print Shop provides comprehensive pre-press, digital, and offset color printing services for university and off-campus customers.
Printing Services provides a web-based ordering system for placing print and paper orders for the university.
The iPrint Business Center offers a convenient copy center with fast turnaround for black and white or color items.
Printing Services provides and manages the UNCW departmental and student (iPrint) copier fleet.
To ensure fairness, per-copy costs are determined by averaging high-volume users with low-volume users for the same type of copier/printer equipment. This policy guarantees that all university departments and activities have uniform access to copiers/printers at the same per-copy cost regardless of usage volume or location.
The university will abide by the guidelines printed in the report of the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee on copyright law (H. R. Report No. 94-1476).
