Modified Academic Calendar: Fall 2020

Adopt the following revisions to the Academic Calendar for Fall 2020.

• Start date of the Academic Year (unchanged): Aug. 10, 2020
• First day of classes (unchanged): August 19, 2020
• Labor Day (unaffected): September 7, 2020
• Canceled: Fall Break (previously scheduled for October 8-9, 2020)
• Last day of classes: November 24, 2020
• Reading Day: November 25, 2020
• Final Exam week: November 30, 2020-December 5, 2020
  
  
  • All instruction must be completed prior to Reading Day (or must move online after Thanksgiving in the event of unexpected delay).
  • Final Exams after Thanksgiving must be completed online.
  • If exams cannot be held online for a specific course, faculty must arrange for completion of all course requirements (including exams) prior to Thanksgiving and document that the course complies with all instruction for credit policies (instructional minutes/student learning outcomes/etc.).
  • UNCW retains the ability to move final exams to the originally scheduled date and use the final week in November for instruction in the event of unexpected delay.
  • Courses scheduled in the OAP calendar shall remain as scheduled.
