Succeeding in the Academic Job Market

Teaching in the university is an adventure, and to win a position on the faculty, you have to succeed at another adventure: the job hunt. The following is a primer for preparing yourself for the academic job market, including how to consolidate and present your credentials, how to interview, and what the timeline is for all the above.

Necessary Prerequisites:

  • Patience.
  • Sense of humor.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Determination.
