UNCW Alumni Day at the Beach Join us for a fun day at Wrightsville Beach at access #36 near Crystal Pier. The Alumni Association will provide complimentary snacks and lots of fun beach games. A local musician will be playing some relaxing beach tunes as you wind down with your friends and classmates. Make sure to pack your sunscreen and beach blanket and bring your friends and family! Feel free to pack a cooler but remember that alcohol is prohibited on Wrightsville Beach. Our reserved area will be located adjacent to the Oceanic Restaurant so you can drop in there for a drink. Sammy’s Campus Crawl $ Seahawks join fellow students, families, and alumni to compete in a campus dare race on UNCW’s campus! In this race smarts can beat speed. The race includes part trivia, photo hunt and part mental and physical challenges, but all fun. You’ll work in teams of 2 to solve a set of UNCW clues to find checkpoints where you must take a photo or perform a dare in order to finish the race. You may use your smart phones to help you solve the clues and figure out the best order to complete them. The winner will win the Grand Prize! Teams are encouraged to participate in the optional Costume Contest, where the best team costume will also win a prize! Registration fee covers race number, t-shirt, and a portion of the proceeds will go to student scholarships. Sponsored by the UNCW Bookstore and Transition Programs |

Kayaking Trip 3: Masonboro Island Paddle $ Escape the crowded beaches and get away to the pristine, unspoiled beaches of Masonboro Island. This island is one of the few remaining undeveloped barrier islands on the North Carolina Coast. We will kayak in the flat waters behind Masonboro Island over to the backside of the ocean beach. We will leave our kayaks and take a short walk to the beach, where we can collect shells, swim, and enjoy a scenic walk. Sponsored by Campus Recreation |
